Remote Access

We can do many service calls remotely, using a software download called ISL Light.  The technician will talk you through downloading the software and then sit back and watch as he takes over your computer in a remote session.  This allows us to be more responsive and eliminates additional travel charges that are charged for on-site service calls.

Online Service Request

Log your next service call online using the Service Request Form located in the top, right handed corner of our website.  Fill out this form and you will immediately receive a confirmation e-mail with your Work Order number.  Then you will receive a call to schedule at on-site appointment or to resolve the problem remotely.  Of course, if you do not have Internet access or are experiencing other problems, you can always call 757-410-0000 to submit your service request.

Tips:

Did you know that you can use the Tab and Spacebar to save time from going back and forth from mouse to keyboard.  Here's how it works! Use the Tab key to move from field to field and use the Spacebar to select.  For example, use Tab to move from the first name field to last name field.  Then, when you get to one like gender, use Tab to move from one to another, the use the Spacebar to select male or female.  If you need to uncheck a box, hit the Spacebar again.  It keeps you from going back and forth from the keyboard and the mouse.

On the go?

Unified Messaging can help simplify your e-mail, voicemail, etc. in one centralized location. Unified messaging is the concept of bringing together all messaging such as e-mail, Fax, voice, video, etc. into a single in-box, accessible from a variety of different devices.  Office Outlook 2007 and Exchange Server 2007 can simplify your communications through improved Inbox capabilities and by unifying different message types into one central place.

Several companies offer solutions that support the deployment of Exchange Server 2007 Unified Messaging, including gateway components, connectivity to existing PBXs, migration, and installation and support.

Vista is available!

Windows new operating system, Vista, hit stores on January 30.

Cost:

It will retail for $100 to $400 depending on the version and whether the user is upgrading from Windows XP.  Windows Vista Business will retail for $299 and the upgrade price is $199.  Vista Ultimate will retail for $399 and the upgrade price is $259.  However, there could be additional hardware upgrade costs associated with upgrading.

Size:

Microsoft recommends 512 megabytes of PC memory for a basic version of Vista, and 1gigabyte for a premium configuration.  Also, Vista requires 15 gigabytes of free space on a computer hard drive.  The installation can last from 25 minutes to several hours, depending on the computer’s hardware.
 Security:

Vista’s security is considerably better than XP, with more-restrictive firewalls, new anti-spyware filters and Internet Explorer’s beefed-up anti-phishing security measures.  But, don’t drop the security applications that you are already using.  No operating system is impervious to viruses.  Trend Micro, Symantec, and McAfee all offer important virus software.

Windows Aero--New user interface.

Vista Express Upgrade

Is one of the best deals offered by Microsoft. Most computers that were or will be purchased from October of 2006 to March of 2007 are available for a free upgrade to Windows Vista. The Vista edition that you are able to upgrade to depends on the Windows XP edition that the computer you purchased has running. If you have bought a computer within this time frame and it came with the option to join the Express Upgrade program, I highly recommend that you order your free copy of Windows Vista. Even if you don’t plan on using Vista right away, you might as well take advantage of this offer. However, make sure you order your copy of the Windows Vista Upgrade before March of 2007.
